Varlogsyslog not updating

We suggest upgrading your config and adding -c5 as the first rsyslogd option. It sounds like logrotate successfully moved /var/log/to /var/log/1 , but did not successfully reload the rsyslog daemon. Therefore, the rsyslog thinks it is still writing to /var/log/.If you reload the rsyslog daemon, does it work for you?on a fresh Ubuntu 12.04 x64 Server droplet /var/log/syslog is empty and no entries are added. I created an Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit Droplet the other day () and ran into this problem.

Ubuntu includes a number of ways of viewing these logs, either graphically or from the command-line.Log by facility.#auth,authpriv.* /var/log/auth.log*.*;auth,-/var/log/syslog#cron.* /var/log/cron.log#daemon.* -/var/log/daemon.logkern.* -/var/log/kern.log#lpr.* -/var/log/lpr.logmail.* -/var/log/mail.log#user.* -/var/log/user.log## Logging for the mail system.Split it up so that# it is easy to write scripts to parse these files.##-/var/log/mail.info#-/var/log/mail./var/log/mail.err## Logging for INN news system.#/var/log/news/news./var/log/news/news.errnews.notice -/var/log/news/news.notice## Some "catch-all" log files.##*.=debug;\# auth,authpriv.none;\# news.none;-/var/log/debug#*.=info;*.=notice;*.=warn;\# auth,authpriv.none;\# cron,daemon.none;\# mail,-/var/log/messages## Emergencies are sent to everybody logged in.#*.emerg :omusrmsg:*## I like to have messages displayed on the console, but only on a virtual# console I usually leave idle.##daemon,mail.*;\# news.=crit;news.=err;news.=notice;\# *.=debug;*.=info;\# *.=notice;*.=warn /dev/tty8# The named pipe /dev/xconsole is for the `xconsole' utility. It will appear alongside the other log files in the list and will be monitored and automatically updated, like the other logs.# Default rules for rsyslog.## For more information see rsyslog.conf(5) and /etc/rsyslog.conf## First some standard log files.

The logs are rotated every night by cron (default on rasbian). I had the same thing too, noticed that 'something' was spamming my logs.

  1. The Thai Red Cross Anonymous Clinic has lots of foreign patients, so it’ll be easier to communicate your symptoms in Englis I show exactly which tests to get prices on the Emergency Cheatsheet that comes with my Interactive Guides. The only place where they seem to consistently check IDs is at Route 66 – I never had to show ID at any other club or go-go bar. Other friends of mine (same age) did have to produce their IDs even at go-go bars.
